PASCO 2011

OK! Really? I don't know what it is about Pasco Arenacross but I love it!!! Too bad it doesn't have the same love for me. Last year the whoops were big, well this year they were bigger! Even the pros were having a hard time.

I show up at the Track Friday after working all night. My amazing girlfriend driving me 3.5 hours to the track so I can sleep. Excited to be under the Pinnacle Suspension tent with their new 27 foot semi/box truck we line up for practice. All went well until I fell over in the whoops you can hardly ride threw. My bike dies, could not get it to start. After cleaning my carb and doing a bunch of other stuff to hopefully fix the problem. My bike later left me pushing it off the track with a embarrassing DNF (did not finish). After talking over options with the boys at Pinnacle they offer once again to let me ride their spare bike. Being an '06 RM 250 (2stroke) I hesitated. The bike has a violent power and rides NOTHING like the CRF450 (4stroke) that I'm used to. Still thinking of what I should do my girlfriend tells me to "man up and grow a pair" thus I make the decision to ride the 2 stroke. I used my LCQ (last chance qualifier) as a practice for the next day.

SATURDAY: Getting comfortable with the 2 stroke I rode practice really well, and did alright in qualifying races. Until I crashed in the whoops and sprained my wrist. 7PM rolls around the stands fill up and it is race time. With back to back motos I line up for the 450 class with a dead last start and no chance to win, I focus on my timing and not wear myself out for the +25 class. With a good start in the plus 25 i was in second. going threw the whoops I clipped a hay bail with my foot peg sending it into the middle of my line. Next lap taking the same line, not knowing the hay bail was in my line i hit it, stopping my bike dead in my tracks I go over the bars and face first into the dirt.

Over all I feel like I let my friends, sponsors at Wrenegade's Bar and Grill and my self down. I am taking some time to myself to regroup. My bike is with Pinnacle being reworked, and I WILL be in Redmond Arenacross to WIN!!!

BAIL ME OUT

Ok, I know my whole blog is designed for me to keep you informed on my racing career. However, this year I am going to switch up a few things. As a starter, I will be donating my time and efforts to charities and organizations in my local and surrounding communities. Ones that my local motocross sponsors, such as MoxieMX and Wrenegades Bar and Grill, have brought to my attention.

An anonymous person has nominated me to be ARRESTED and placed in Lock-up!

WHO: ME - Jeremy Mickelson
WHAT: I am a "bail-raising Jailbird"
WHEN: February 24th
WHERE: Old Chicago in Gresham

WHY: Over 80 local kids, living with neuromuscular diseases. All funds raised will contribute to the MDA Summer Camp this July (and they will have the experience of a lifetime).

HOW: I am a “bail-raising Jailbird” that has set up a web sight where you can make a simple donation to set me free. Donate Online Here! Every penny really matters. You will also receive a tax deductible gift receipt upon donating. Your donation is my key to freedom! Be proud of the fact that together we're providing help and hope to kids and adults suffering from MDA in our community.

I hope to see everyone at The Old Chicago to help raise money to set me free!

FIRST ARENACROSS of 2010-11

Hey!

I just had my first Arenacross race this year at Clark County Fair grounds. I had raced in two classes, the 450 C and Before the Hill B/C. My bike problems hindered me from placing in any of my races. I had good starts all night and was really impressed with how I rode when my bike wasn't acting up. I just could not put together a solid moto.

MoxieMx had picked up 36 children and asked all the MoxieMX riders to sponsor a child for Christmas. I sponsored an 11 year old boy named Bobby. He arrived with his mother bright eyed and eager for the night of racing. It was his first race and he seemed to really enjoy it. They wanted to know when and where I would be racing in the future so they would be able to watch again. I'm sure next time they will be a little more prepared for the cold(lol), as everyone that came with me seemed to be a little on the chilly side ;)

My plans as of now are to go to the second event in Pasco, WA which will be held on Jan. 7th and 8th you can find the schedule at whrmotorsports.com. I have a lot of work to do to get my bike ready and prepare myself. I feel more than capable of being a top competitor in the classes I plan to enter this year so wish me luck!

I want to say thanks to MoxieMX for organizing this event and helping our community in a positive way. Even with the bad moto turn out it was still (in 12 years of racing) one of the funnest and most memorable to me. I also want to say thanks to Wrenegads Bar and Grill for helping me with my entry fees and with the family food basket I sponsored as well. I can not leave out Carrie, thanks for your support and all your help you are great.

No Pasco :(

Well my plans for Pasco Arena cross fell threw. I still plan on being at the second event and also the Redmond Arena cross. I am going elk hunting this weekend, so wish me luck.
So much is changing in my life right now, so fast I cant even think straight. I am totally trusting God to guide me in the right directions. I have to say Life is stress full for me, yet for the most part still good. I have tied a knot in my rope and I'm just hanging on for the ride.
I can not thank my family enough for their support, it is amazing and I love you guys so much.

Hey every one!
So now the 2010 out door is almost over and I think iv raced about 4 times(sad enough that is). I have not dun to bad considering the amount of riding I have done, or lack of. I had a ton of fun at the MOXIEMX, THURSDAY NIGHT MOTOCROSS RACE FOR A CURE. Where MOXIE MX also raised $5000 for the Coleman foundation. I came out with a disappointing 5th place finish
Who ever on a better note, I am down to about 183 pounds and feel great.
Woodland outdoor winter track is going to start soon. As well is the National Arena Cross, where i plan to try and race both of the Pasco,WA rounds and the one in Redmond,OR.
I once again can not give enough thanks to my Sponsors and friends at Moxie Mx, Pinnacle Suspension, FMF, Wrenegades Bar and Grill, and also Db photography (who edits my blog);)
Thanks to every one
